Beit Issie Shapiro


Beit Issie Shapiro is an Israeli non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities. It provides a range of educational and therapeutic services, including early childhood intervention centers, special education schools, professional units like a hydrotherapy center, a sports rehabilitation and leisure center, an emotional therapy center, a dual diagnosis unit, and Snoezelen multi-sensory treatment. The organization offers a social club for adults with intellectual disabilities, a dental clinic, and a technological center. Additionally, Beit Issie Shapiro engages in social change initiatives, policy advocacy, family support in Kalansua, research and evaluation, training and professional development through the Trump Institute, and publishes an academic journal on disability and society. It also has an international presence, exporting models and consulting at the UN, and has been recognized as a special advisor to the Economic and Social Council of the UN since 2012. The organization also runs the inclusive "Park Haverim" and promotes young leadership development. It has received numerous awards, including the Israel Prize and the Rappaport Prize for its founder, Naomi Stuchiner.
